Nancy Floyd is an artist whose exhibition record includes shows in the United States, Japan and Europe, with nineteen solo exhibitions (one forthcoming) and over seventy group shows. Her work has been published in the journal Contact Sheet, as well as in the books Game Face, Pregnant Pictures, Heart Shots, Gun Women, Real Knockouts, Bombensicher: Atomic Photographers Guild and A Different War: Vietnam in Art. Floyd’s book, She’s Got a Gun, will be published by Temple University Press in the Spring of 2008.

Floyd grew up in League City,Texas. She received her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA from Columbia College Chicago, and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. She has received numerous awards including a 2002 Artist Project Grant from the City of Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs and a 2004 Research Initiation Grant from Georgia State University.

Floyd makes her home in Atlanta and serves as Associate Professor of Photography in the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University.
